- **Event Description**: Join us on Friday, March 6th as the Holy Cross Schola presents Dieterich Buxtehude's Baroque masterpiece, Membra Jesu Nostri, accompanied by chamber ensemble.

Composed in 1680, with texts drawn both from Scripture and a medieval hymn written by a 13th century abbott, Membra Jesu Nostri is a sung devotion to Christ as he hung on the cross, each of its seven movements contemplating a different part of his crucified body.

The work explores the emotional contrast between the horror of Christ's crucifixion—and our sinful nature that placed him there—and the joy of his resurrection with its promise of eternal salvation open to us all.

A donation of $25 is suggested at the door.
